的 Crafton Hills College Visual 艺术s Program is a welcoming environment for all that are new or returning to the college experience, for those who wish to work towards an AA in 艺术 degree, or for transfer toward Bachelor’s degree in Visual 艺术s. 学生 develop a strong foundation in visual art techniques, media and processes and in critical thinking. Our small sized classes offer individual attention that help students develop their artistic sensibilities and explore future goals in the many employment opportunities available in the arts.
WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?
- Exploration of traditional and non-traditional techniques and exploratory art media.
Studio courses develop technical, conceptual, and critical skills. - 学生 work with professors who are exhibiting professional artists and work in their respective fields.
- CHC Gallery Program exhibits Visiting 艺术ists who address contemporary issues in art.
Student Exhibition each semester which showcase and celebrate the work of all our student studio classes. - 学生 may participate in gallery exhibition preparation of installation and planning 在校园里.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES MIGHT IT LEAD TO?
We live in a visual culture, and studying visual art provides us with a new and informed way of seeing and interpreting the world. Many art students transfer to earn Bachelor’s of 艺术s/Bachelor's of 美术 degrees and then earn Master’s degrees (M.A.)，甚至 the terminal degree of Master’s of 美术 (M.F.A) in their given field. 学生 who pursue degrees in Studio 艺术 are laying a strong foundation for careers in many exciting and creative fields. According to the Creative Economy Report of 2013, published by OTIS College of 艺术 and Design:
1 in 7 wage/ salaried jobs in the Los Angeles County area and 1 in 10 in the state of California are in creative industries.
49% of creative occupations require a bachelor’s degree or higher for an entry-level
